My Mother Nature design from 2006, 2007, and 2 days ago.
AKA "Dude I used to draw like that 0_o" And I will critique myself to death because I'm in that self hating mood
2006: Not sure what inspired the idea but I went with it. I wanted to incorporate all the seasons and have her hold a "Baby Earth" to incorporate the "mother" part of it. Eyes done in my style rather than "omg anime desu!" style that I usually fall back on.
Tried going for non chibi, but lets face it, it's chibi and it's done ok, but not what I wanted to do. Way too many flowers going on at the bottom. I didn't incorporate winter well at all and all the leaves for fall loook the same. Way too many flowers on the bottom of the dress. Proportions suck!
2007: Less chibi, but I almost like the 2006 version better, proportions are even worse here. More variety of leaves though and I like my placement of the flowers a LOT better here. Tried to make the eyes smaller but heh, failed. Tried to incorporate winter better with a veil but I think that failed too. And those feet, God I hate the feet but I like the barefoot look better. Baby earth looks better too. I like my elf like ears - makes it look more fantasy like, but they're way too prominent.
Ugh, I'm really hating the proportions on this, I can't get over how bad they are. Not that I'm any good with proportions mind you but this is REALLY BAD!
2009: I have no idea where this came from. I feel like I didn't even draw it, like it's out of my leauge. Proportions are still sucky but a HUGE improvement over 2007. Fall is more than a pile of leaves on her head yay. Winter is slightly more prominent with the ice crystal sleeves (will probably look better when I color it) but still not enough. I'm LOVING the eyes, they're small but feminine. The only things I really don't like are her arms and hands. And of course the proportions but I kind of ran out of room on my paper so I couldn't make her legs longer like I wanted. LOL.

Will probably color 2009 version by hand as I feel it will work better. Maybe I'll even come with a background this time
